  • John Moore
    John Moore has over 32 years in truck repair, much of that time spent working for the City of New York Department of Sanitation. Previous to that, he worked for Cadillac and Oldsmobile dealerships. He holds ASA A1, 3, 4, and 5 Certifications and is scheduled for 3 more. He began teaching at NYADI in August 2016. In his spare time he enjoys sailing and spending time with his family and his three dogs.span>

  • James E. Day
    James E. Day served 3 years in the US Army driving heavy trucks and Jeeps.  He then earned a certificate from Apex’s Diesel Program, worked at Bruno Diesel in Brooklyn, and was employed by Jaguar and Rolls-Royce dealerships.  As a paratransit supervisor, he trained new hires, including in the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations. He has been an Instructor at NYADI since 2009.  Mr. Day has the following ASE Certifications: A1, A4, A5, A6, A7, B5, G1, T2, and T4.  When he is not encouraging his students to pursue their goals, he enjoys eating exotic foods, playing the guitar, and watching movies.

  • Alberto S. Machado
    Alberto S. Machado had over 20 years of experience as an Automotive Technician before coming to NYADI. He is ASE certified in A5 and A6. Mr. Machado is a NYS Licensed Teacher and  has been an Instructor at NYADI since 2005. Mr. Machado is fluent in English and Spanish and is committed to diversity. students.

  • Hilary King
    Hilary King owned and operated King’s Auto Repair for 18 years and then worked as an Automotive Technician at a GM Service Center.  Mr. King has the following ASE Certifications: A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and T8.  He also has a NYS Motor Vehicle Inspector’s Certification and a Section 609 Certification.  He was an Automotive Instructor at APEX Technical School for six years and  has been a Diesel Instructor and Supervisor at NYADI since 2011.

  • Peter Licostie
    Peter Licostie was a General Motors Master Automotive Technician for 31 years.  He has an ASE Master Automotive Technician Certification, Automobile Advanced Engine Performance, B5, G2, T1, and T6.  Mr. Licostie has been an Automotive Instructor and Supervisor at NYADI since 2009.  When not working with his students, Mr. Licostie enjoys eating out, movies, the beach, and attending football and baseball games.

  • William Murphy
    William Murphy owned and operated a neighborhood Service Station / Repair Shop for 35 years. Prior to becoming an Instructor at NYADI in 2006, he had many years of teaching mechanical skills to new employees.  His ASE Certifications are A1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, B5, G1, T1, T6, and L1.  Mr. Murphy also has a NYS Inspector’s License and is 609 A/C Certified.

  • Dennis Gregory
    Dennis Gregory worked for 11 years as a co-owner of Hasen Käfer Racing  followed by six years at Millenium Collision.  He is an ASE Master Certified Collision Repair Technician.  His other ASE Certifications include B2, B3, B4, B5 and Automobile Technician A4, A5, A6, and G1.  Mr. Gregory has been an Instructor at NYADI since 2014.  In his free time, he enjoys Western martial arts, drag racing, paintball, and replicating full scale military vehicles.

  • Brandon Heerkens
    Brandon Heerkens is a third generation automotive body man and has worked in the collision industry for 25 years.  Mr. Heerkens is an ASE Master Certified Collision Tech. He also has I-Car Certification for Audi Collision Repair, GMA, and Mig Welding.  He began teaching at NYADI in 2015.  When he is not busy guiding students towards their careers, Mr. Heerkens enjoys fishing, camping, and R/C cars.

  • Edward Boyle
    Edward Boyle has experience in all phases of automobile repair, drivability, technology, and troubleshooting since he was a young teenager.  He also served as an Assistant Service Manager.  He has ASE Certification in the following: A1 through A9; Master L1, Advanced C1, B5, G1, T1, T2, T6, and T7.  His other certifications include: Bosch Advanced Diagnostics for Asia, Europe and the US: K Systems, L Systems, D Systems; Bosch Advanced Electronics, Meters, Scopes; NYS ATTP Technician; GM, Ford, Chrysler Factory, Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, and Mazda.  Mr. Boyle has taught since 2004 at NYADI.  He enjoys woodworking and music.

  • Farook Khan
    Farook Khan was employed as a heavy duty diesel auto Fleet Manager from 1975 until 2015.  He has 40 years hands-on experience in all aspects of automotive and diesel repairs.  He has 17 ASE Certifications, including a Master Medium – Heavy Duty Truck Technician Certification.  Mr. Khan has 25 other trade certifications including the NYS Inspector’s License, Diesel and Auto Emission Control, a NYS DOT bus license, and a NYS Air Conditioning License, among others.  He has taught for 20 years in the field and since 2015 as a NYADI Instructor. In addition to his interest in automotive and diesel technology, Mr. Khan enjoys outdoor sports, fishing, and hunting.
