Library Mission & Vision
The New York Automotive and Diesel Institute, The College of Transportation Technology is home to a full service library in a recently redesigned space. We serve the entire NYADI community, but our focus is on the students and their academic and lifelong learning needs. The NYADI library is here to aid the students in career development, research, information literacy, personal growth and professional development.
General Description
The library houses computers in a quiet study space, small group tables, and meeting spaces. A comprehensive collection of books and periodicals on automobiles, trucks, buses, and motorcycles is complemented by a general education collection. We also purchase biographies’ novels, and reference books. Our library also subscribes to all hardcopy (paper) magazines in the automotive and diesel field that are published in English. We also purchase copies of general interest magazines on popular subjects so students can keep up with their interests or find new ones. A selection of internet resources and documents, along with the NYADI Library online catalog are accessed through the online library guide which is the gateway to all your library resources.

This is a research-based and experience-driven language-learning program.
Small Business Resource Center:
This comprehensive database offers information for all major areas of starting and operating a business.
Culture Pass:
Explore New York City’s museums and attractions with Culture Pass. If you have a library card, you can get free admission to dozens of cultural institutions.
Learn English:
ESL resources, classes and instruction are held through the QPL at various levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) along with other technology or basic education aid through their Adult Learning Centers.

Career Cruising:
Interactive career guidance resource in English and in Spanish. Users can find help with occupational assessment, career exploration, educational planning, and portfolio development.
Digital Learn:
An online hub for digital literacy support and training. Find short, video-based courses with narration, on basic skills, such as using a computer, navigating a web site, email, internet privacy, and more.
Mango Languages:
Learn a new language or brush up current skills. Contains 52 language learning courses along with a mobile app and feature films to accompany the languages.
Metrix Learning:
An online learning management system that helps jobseekers upgrade their skills and study for certification exams to help secure employment. Some courses include electrical systems, mechanical systems, welding, machine shop practices and more.
Morningstar Investing Center:
Basic financial planning and investment advice as well as sophisticated portfolio analysis. Access to comprehensive data and independent analysis on thousands of investments, spanning mutual funds, stocks, exchange-traded funds, and closed-end funds.
Weiss Financial Rating:
Financial Literacy Tools to learn about your finances from credit, checking, stocks, various funds and medical insurance.
O*Net Online:
This in-depth resource provides information on work tasks, tech and general skill requirements, work values and styles, and links to helpful industry-specific professional organizations.
