How do we know if we are eligible for Financial Aid?
No two students are alike; every student has a unique financial situation and obligations, and therefore their opportunities for aid differ. During your visit to our campus, be sure to schedule and attend an appointment with the Financial Aid Office to help determine your eligibility for various kinds of financial assistance.
NYADI is glad to offer financial aid to qualifying students through federal and state programs, such as grants, work-study opportunities, and loans. In addition to completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students should submit the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application. See below NYADI’s codes necessary for completing both applications:
- FAFSA school code is 035373
- TAP code is 2322
Outside federal and state aid, NYADI offers a High School Student Scholarship Program in which high school graduates enrolling in our programs can earn either a partial, half, or full tuition scholarship to help cover the costs of their training. Students will complete an entrance exam to qualify for a scholarship. All students who complete the exam will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship toward their tuition.
Eligibility requirements may differ for certain state financial aid or scholarships. However, criteria for federal student aid programs are standard and include:
- Being a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Having a valid Social Security number
- Being enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a qualifying program
- Maintaining adequate academic progress while enrolled in the program
- Demonstrating a need for financial assistance
- Having a high school diploma or GED/TASC, or passing an equivalent examination approved by the U.S. Department of Education
- Confirming aid is intended for educational purposes only
- Verifying the student has not defaulted on any student loan
- Being registered with the U.S. Selective Service (if male)
