What Is Driving the Trend Toward Electric Vehicles?

Are Electric Vehicles Bad for Business?

While the purpose is still to get you from point A to point B, electric vehicles accomplish this much differently than other cars and trucks on the road. Without a combustion engine, electric vehicles have far fewer moving parts and components that need servicing. That means no oil needs to be changed nor do filters need to be replaced. That also means there are no cooling systems that need to be serviced.

While there’s no engine to service, there are still plenty of parts to an electric vehicle that require the expertise of a qualified mechanic. Electric vehicles still require a series of periodic checks and services to ensure they are operating correctly. This includes rotating and changing tires, replacing brake pads and rotors, filling various fluids, and more.

Although some suggest electric vehicles are safer than their gas-powered counterparts, accidents still happen. Collision repair technicians will still be needed to replace damaged body parts, realign frames, and repair structural damage as well as fit, attach, and weld replacement parts into place.
